About Bee Now – A vehicle for Information
Bee Now was created as a neutral public window on BEE encouraging discussion and an exchange of information between all stakeholders. It also offers, amongst other things, free services to stakeholders such as the free uploading of BEE Rating Certificates, News, Information, Comments, free BEE Rating Certificate Searches, Legislation, free and easy to use BEE Verification quotations from all Bee Now registered and SANAS accredited BEE Rating Agencies, and in general try to provide a fun and informative home to South African BEE Processes and role-players.
It is a division of the SA Black Economic Empowerment Verification Institute, which has as its aim the research into Black Economic Empowerment as well as the Verification as well as general BEE consultation to stakeholders. We have found that there is a massive amount of disinformation and also lack of decent information out in the public sector which results in a lot of business owners seeing BEE as a threat rather than an opportunity to transform.
The idea behind Bee Now is to stimulate discussion and to give real and relevant information to business out there in order for them to firstly buy-in on the principles of BEE and then set best practice principles for them to follow. There is little information on BEE from Government and it is not really very user-friendly.
The role of BEE Consultants and that of BEE Verification Agencies as role players to give out information on BEE is regarded with a high level of suspicion from the perspective of business owners as it is seen that the Agents and Consultants only give out information on and of BEE that will entice the businesses to utilize their services for the latter’s profit.
There is therefore a need to voice the opinion on BEE for business, together with that of other role players. Tied in with this is the need to provide relevant, substantiated and practical advice from a neutral and objective platform. A vehicle such as Bee Now is dependent on information and active debate – so we invite you to make use of this easy-to-use instrument to your own benefit and to transformation as a whole in South Africa.
